About

Melinda writes character-driven fantasy full of reluctant allies, heart-wrenching betrayals, and found families you might actually die for. Her stories blend emotional stakes with sweeping world-building, often drawing inspiration from ancient history. Readers can expect rich settings that feel lived-in, complicated character dynamics, and protagonists who are a healthy dose of morally grey.

Melinda’s love for storytelling began early, writing tales to tell the children at her family’s childcare and sneaking flashlights into bed to finish one more chapter, which was never actually just one. Now, she’s pursuing her master’s degree in Creative Writing and English while running a writing group that connects authors worldwide.
When she’s not writing, you’ll find her walking the Maine coastline, hiking forest trails, and plotting another tragic story arc in her notes app. She has a knack for pressing her luck—and an ever-growing collection of four-leaf clovers to prove it. A good chunk of her free time is spent mastering the art of frisbee throwing to appease her dog Clover, who remains her toughest critic. Melinda is also responsible for funding Clover’s ever-growing dinosaur stuffed animal addiction.
