About

Melinda Dwyer is a fantasy writer currently editing her novel, The War of Two Kings, which is inspired by the turbulent siblingship between the ancient Roman brothers Caracalla and Geta. Equipped with a lifelong love for storytelling, Melinda is a passionate world weaver dedicated to writing rich settings and whirlwind adventures that readers can feel part of. She draws on her love of ancient civilizations to inspire her stories and settings but highlights the complicated character dynamics above all.

Readers can find beloved themes throughout her writing discography, such as found family and reluctant allies. Melinda has a “no hero rule” when writing and instead believes in crafting characters with believable motives. She says, “I write characters who do good things for selfish reasons as much as they do bad things for selfish reasons.”

When Melinda isn’t writing, she enjoys getting outside, whether it’s to hike or just stroll along the waterfront. She also dedicates a copious amount of time to mastering the art of frisbee throwing to appease her dog, who is a very tough critic. Melinda also runs a writing group that hosts weekly events and writing sprints, as well as monthly critique groups. She is currently working towards her master’s degree in creative writing and English.
