Melinda’s love for storytelling began early, spinning tales to tell the children at her family’s childcare and sneaking flashlights into bed to finish just one more chapter. Now, she’s pursuing her master’s degree in Creative Writing and English while running a writing group that connects authors worldwide.
Melinda’s own writing focuses on character-driven fantasy full of reluctant allies and heart-wrenching betrayals. Her stories often draw inspiration from ancient history, and readers can expect complex character dynamics and protagonists with a healthy dose of morally grey.
Melinda craves adventure on and off the page, so when she’s not writing, you can find her undergoing her fantasy training montage consisting of rock climbing, kickboxing, hiking, and running. She has a knack for pressing her luck—and an ever-growing collection of four-leaf clovers to prove it. A good chunk of her free time is spent mastering the art of frisbee throwing to appease her dog, who remains her toughest critic.
